BLACK FRIDAY!!

This year I went black friday shopping with Charley's sisters to Park City. We met at 9pm Thanksgiving evening and headed to Park City. We arrived about 10:30pm and the shopping was on! We shopped until 4am in Park City than Kari and I headed to ShopKo for their super deals. We got in, got everything we wanted and out within about 30 min. It was so much fun except for when walking to the car quickly with all of my stuff my cart hit a huge dip in the parking lot and both my shins went crashing into the back of the cart. I seriously have some battle wounds from this years shopping, but it was worth it!! This picture is us planning our Black Friday agenda.

Christmas Time is HERE!

Decorating the Christmas tree is always so much fun. We have so many ornaments that we've collected over the years from Christmas stockings, vacations, gifts from others, etc. It's fun to pull them out and talk about the memories attached to the ornament. Of course half of them are usually broken and glued back together but that's part of the memories:) The kids especially love our Christmas train that circles the bottom of the Christmas tree. Ty especially love the gingerbread ornaments. He is even giving this one a kiss! We listened to Christmas music and the kids had a great time.

Ty Sleeping

One of Ty's common sleeping positions.

Buzz, Transformer, Power Ranger

Porter dresses up all the time. Whether it's a cowboy (which it usually is, we call him "Little Ricky" because he looks just like his Grandpa Sanders) or a power ranger or a pirate, he goes all out! This was his get up for what he called the buzz-transformer-power ranger weapon. He is just hilarious. We are never quite sure what he will come up with next.

The Nutcracker

Lately Katelyn has been asking to take "ballerina class". She loves to dress up in leotards and tutu's with ballerina slippers on. We decided to take her to the Nutcracker. We left the boys with Grandma Pittman and took her on a date. We thought she would be bored sick and fall asleep half way through but it was just the opposite. She was so cute and excited about it. She kept asking questions about the dancers like which one was the Sugar Plum Fairy and which one was the Ice Princess. She loved all the little kids that were in it and said "I want to be a ballerina so I can be on stage and do a dance for you and daddy". What a love! Needless to say I totally want to put her in ballet. So arrangements are under way. This is Charley holding his little Sugar Plum Fairy after the concert. What a fun date with our little sweetie!

Katelyn's Choir Concert

Katie had her first choir concert. Can you believe that? Kindergarten has choir concerts at the Charter School! We love it! She sang "Jingle Bells" and an Indian Song. They asked them to dress up as Indians for that song which is why Katie is wearing one of my old costumes. She looks like such a cutie. Bridger loves having her at his school. His concert will be next week. We are so proud.

Let it snow!

Bridger and Katie were so excited for the first snow! Well the first snow that you could actually build a snowman in. They did this snowman all by themselves. They used crayons for eyes and noes. Branches from the tree out front for the arms and an old scarf and hat. They were pretty proud! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!

Ty is so funny!

Ty found this little doll pottie in Katelyn's room and he carries it around and sits on it. It is so funny because it is just a tiny little pottie. He is so funny, can't wait to see what he's gonna do next.

Bullwinkle

This is bullwinkle, our moose that we see almost every time we drive through Sardine canyon. We haven't seen him since the moose hunt a month ago. We are hoping he is just hiding out.

Charles Jack Hansen

We recently went to Filer Idaho to have the kids meet their Grandpa Hansen. He lives in a small little town and we went to a park near his house to let the Grandkids play and have a potluck lunch. Kari and Danny's families came too. Grandpa Hansen made his famous dutch oven meatballs. We sat around in a circle and talked for a few hours. Grandpa Hansen liked pushing the little ones on the swing. Grandma Hansen's name is Teresa. She is very nice and made everyone feel very comfortable. JB is Charley's half brother and it was his birthday, he turned 12. He is a great kid. He like meeting his nieces and nephews. We gave him a football for his birthday and he and Charley tossed it back and forth. It was a long drive but worth it. Grandpa Hansen loved it when Bridger and Porter called him Grandpa Hansen. He said it got him choked up. It was a nice day.

Olivia's Princess Party

Olivia Lifferth is our next door neighbor and Katelyn's best friend. She was born on Dec. 25th two days after Porter so she is 2 yrs younger than Katie but it doesn't matter. They are just two peas in a pod! We are so sad that she is moving soon. She had a Princess party for her going away party. Katelyn dressed up as Cinderella and Porter wanted to be a cowboy. The had a lot of fun. We will miss you Lifferth's!

Lagoon

We bought Lagoon season passes this year and have loved it!! It has helped us to avoid more expensive and elaborate vacationing. It is great for a day to get away with the family and have lots of fun. We went with Jackie's family often and Chandi's family too. It's fun to do that because we can trade off with the kids and ride the bigger rides with Bridger. Bridger's favorite ride is Wicked and Fire Dragon (Colossus). Katelyn and Porter's favorite ride is definetly Bulgy the Whale, they could ride it over and over and over. Bridger did the Sky Coaster with Laci at the beginning of the season to get a couple bucks for games. The sky coaster takes you up 150 feet and you free fall from the top. What a rush! He loved it. Charley loves to be able to take Bridger on rides with him. Ty hates the Merry go round. He starts shaking and crying. Give it a few years I guess. We did one trip with the Sweeten's. Lots of fun.

Katie's Broken Arm

Katie broke her arm a few months ago. She was swinging and flew off backwards on to her arm. Luckily Carly our neighbor next door heard her crying and brought her home. We rushed her to the Emergency room very carefully avoided bumps in the car. She was pretty brave. She was in shock by the time we got there and was shivering and shaking. It was so sad. They put her to sleep to set the brake. She broke both the radius and ulna just above the wrist. She had to be in an up to the shoulder cast for 3 weeks and a half cast for 3 more. She had a pink cast first, then a purple. Both with sparkles of course. She learned to write with her left hand very quickly and still uses it now even though her cast is off. I am just so grateful that it wasn't worse and that she is OK.

Our camping trip with Folsoms

We recently went camping with Jacob and Leesha Folsom and their kids Luke and Savannah to the Cinnamon Creek campground. It is so beautiful there and quiet. The campground is owned by the church and used for Girl's camps, ward camp, and stake activities. There is a hand cart that you use to carry all of your camping stuff to the spot that you wil be camping. There is a huge open area of just grass that the kids can play on which is wonderful! One drawback to this beautiful campground however is the Racoons! These mischevious little creatures get into everything. Including the Folsom's tent at night. Charley and Jake watched some come right up to the table and food in the morning. A little scary since they can get quite aggressive if they want something bad enough. The boys took the kids for handcart rides. They loved it! We had a really great camping trip!

WITCHES NIGHT OUT

Witches Night 2009, what a blast! We arrived at Gardener's village in Salt Lake around 4pm and went straight to Archibald's restaurant. If you get there too late you have to wait hours, we made that mistake last year. We all had Prime Rib, yum, and chocolate carrot cake dessert. It was fabulous! We then went window shopping (because none of us have money) in all the cute little stores. They have mostly crafty boutique items. They have a drawing for prizes every couple of hours. They set up a stage with a DJ in the middle of the village and play fun music where everyone can dance and be crazy witches! They have cackle contests and a witch parade. What fun! Next year Katie will be coming with me, she would have so much fun! We met up with Aunt Sid, Laurie and Paige and cousin Amy. We missed Crystal this year, she is in Missouri with Sam. Every year our costumes get a little better, next year we are hoping to pull off the "Sanderson" Sisters. Heee Heee Heee.

Fall 2009 (our first blog)

We love the Fall! We drive through Sardine Canyon many times throughout the year, but we especially love the first week in October. We even see herds of deer if we keep our eyes open. Even the kids are getting good enough at spotting them. The kids are looking forward to Halloween. Bridger, Porter and Ty are being Star Wars characters and Katie has a variety of costumes. It will depend on her mood that day. As for me and Charley, Charley is going to be a "Johnny Greaser" and I am going to be a witch. I play that role well. I am looking forward to the Witches night out with my Mom and sisters. We are hopin to expect puppies right before Christmas. We also hope to survive the flu season. Ty and Kate have got the swine flu now. Bridger and Katelyn are doing well in school. We just went to first parent teacher conference this year and the reports were all good. They are both very well behaved and well mannered in class. They are loved by their teachers. Katelyn finally got her cast off this week and it's been great to give her a normal bath! It's nice for her to be able to use her right hand for writing too. Charley has had a miraculous recovery from his carpel tunnel syndrome, for now atleast. Keep stretching!
