Bullwinkle

This is bullwinkle, our moose that we see almost every time we drive through Sardine canyon. We haven't seen him since the moose hunt a month ago. We are hoping he is just hiding out.

Charles Jack Hansen

We recently went to Filer Idaho to have the kids meet their Grandpa Hansen. He lives in a small little town and we went to a park near his house to let the Grandkids play and have a potluck lunch. Kari and Danny's families came too. Grandpa Hansen made his famous dutch oven meatballs. We sat around in a circle and talked for a few hours. Grandpa Hansen liked pushing the little ones on the swing. Grandma Hansen's name is Teresa. She is very nice and made everyone feel very comfortable. JB is Charley's half brother and it was his birthday, he turned 12. He is a great kid. He like meeting his nieces and nephews. We gave him a football for his birthday and he and Charley tossed it back and forth. It was a long drive but worth it. Grandpa Hansen loved it when Bridger and Porter called him Grandpa Hansen. He said it got him choked up. It was a nice day.

Olivia's Princess Party

Olivia Lifferth is our next door neighbor and Katelyn's best friend. She was born on Dec. 25th two days after Porter so she is 2 yrs younger than Katie but it doesn't matter. They are just two peas in a pod! We are so sad that she is moving soon. She had a Princess party for her going away party. Katelyn dressed up as Cinderella and Porter wanted to be a cowboy. The had a lot of fun. We will miss you Lifferth's!

Lagoon

We bought Lagoon season passes this year and have loved it!! It has helped us to avoid more expensive and elaborate vacationing. It is great for a day to get away with the family and have lots of fun. We went with Jackie's family often and Chandi's family too. It's fun to do that because we can trade off with the kids and ride the bigger rides with Bridger. Bridger's favorite ride is Wicked and Fire Dragon (Colossus). Katelyn and Porter's favorite ride is definetly Bulgy the Whale, they could ride it over and over and over. Bridger did the Sky Coaster with Laci at the beginning of the season to get a couple bucks for games. The sky coaster takes you up 150 feet and you free fall from the top. What a rush! He loved it. Charley loves to be able to take Bridger on rides with him. Ty hates the Merry go round. He starts shaking and crying. Give it a few years I guess. We did one trip with the Sweeten's. Lots of fun.

Katie's Broken Arm

Katie broke her arm a few months ago. She was swinging and flew off backwards on to her arm. Luckily Carly our neighbor next door heard her crying and brought her home. We rushed her to the Emergency room very carefully avoided bumps in the car. She was pretty brave. She was in shock by the time we got there and was shivering and shaking. It was so sad. They put her to sleep to set the brake. She broke both the radius and ulna just above the wrist. She had to be in an up to the shoulder cast for 3 weeks and a half cast for 3 more. She had a pink cast first, then a purple. Both with sparkles of course. She learned to write with her left hand very quickly and still uses it now even though her cast is off. I am just so grateful that it wasn't worse and that she is OK.

Our camping trip with Folsoms

We recently went camping with Jacob and Leesha Folsom and their kids Luke and Savannah to the Cinnamon Creek campground. It is so beautiful there and quiet. The campground is owned by the church and used for Girl's camps, ward camp, and stake activities. There is a hand cart that you use to carry all of your camping stuff to the spot that you wil be camping. There is a huge open area of just grass that the kids can play on which is wonderful! One drawback to this beautiful campground however is the Racoons! These mischevious little creatures get into everything. Including the Folsom's tent at night. Charley and Jake watched some come right up to the table and food in the morning. A little scary since they can get quite aggressive if they want something bad enough. The boys took the kids for handcart rides. They loved it! We had a really great camping trip!

WITCHES NIGHT OUT

Witches Night 2009, what a blast! We arrived at Gardener's village in Salt Lake around 4pm and went straight to Archibald's restaurant. If you get there too late you have to wait hours, we made that mistake last year. We all had Prime Rib, yum, and chocolate carrot cake dessert. It was fabulous! We then went window shopping (because none of us have money) in all the cute little stores. They have mostly crafty boutique items. They have a drawing for prizes every couple of hours. They set up a stage with a DJ in the middle of the village and play fun music where everyone can dance and be crazy witches! They have cackle contests and a witch parade. What fun! Next year Katie will be coming with me, she would have so much fun! We met up with Aunt Sid, Laurie and Paige and cousin Amy. We missed Crystal this year, she is in Missouri with Sam. Every year our costumes get a little better, next year we are hoping to pull off the "Sanderson" Sisters. Heee Heee Heee.

Fall 2009 (our first blog)

We love the Fall! We drive through Sardine Canyon many times throughout the year, but we especially love the first week in October. We even see herds of deer if we keep our eyes open. Even the kids are getting good enough at spotting them. The kids are looking forward to Halloween. Bridger, Porter and Ty are being Star Wars characters and Katie has a variety of costumes. It will depend on her mood that day. As for me and Charley, Charley is going to be a "Johnny Greaser" and I am going to be a witch. I play that role well. I am looking forward to the Witches night out with my Mom and sisters. We are hopin to expect puppies right before Christmas. We also hope to survive the flu season. Ty and Kate have got the swine flu now. Bridger and Katelyn are doing well in school. We just went to first parent teacher conference this year and the reports were all good. They are both very well behaved and well mannered in class. They are loved by their teachers. Katelyn finally got her cast off this week and it's been great to give her a normal bath! It's nice for her to be able to use her right hand for writing too. Charley has had a miraculous recovery from his carpel tunnel syndrome, for now atleast. Keep stretching!
